Roman Chainmail Armor
Outfit your minifigures with the timeless strength of the Lorica Hamata, Rome’s classic chainmail armor. This finely detailed, LEGO-compatible torso piece in metallic silver features an intricate ringmail texture, faithfully capturing the rugged look of armor worn by Rome’s early and auxiliary soldiers.
The lorica hamata was one of the earliest forms of body armor used by Roman troops, adopted from Celtic and Gallic designs as early as the 3rd century BCE. It remained in use throughout the Republic and into the Empire, favored for its excellent balance of protection and mobility. Though later supplemented by the more rigid lorica segmentata, the hamata never disappeared. It was particularly common among auxiliary units, centurions, and even high-ranking officers, valued for its reliability and ease of repair. Ideal for Roman infantry, cavalry, and auxiliary builds, the Roman Chainmail armor brings authentic texture and historical depth to your ancient MOCs.
Pair it with a Roman galea helmet and oval scutum to give your troops the time-tested protection of Rome’s battle-hardened legions. Check out the rest of our Roman Collection for more great imperial Minifig accessories!
